Iowa State University has just announced for Spring 2011 the following class: AN S 543A Section XW – Environmental Management of Livestock—Grazing and Pathogen Issues. Course description:
Impacts of livestock production on environmental quality in grazing-based systems. Management approaches to preserve environmental quality and optimize productivity of farming enterprises through effective integration of resources in grazing-based livestock production systems. Management practices to limit transmission of pathogens between livestock and humans. Use of computer models to develop nutritional and grazing management plans for livestock to enhance productivity while minimizing damage of air, water, and soil resources.
